In Time or Waste of Time?

The specific video that I pulled up was called "Water Quality in the Greenhills Stream." The video was about a science teacher who used the scientific method to help the students answer a question...who didn't know that? She integrated technology by having the students create a PowerPoint presentation of which they would have to present to the class.
All in all the video was lacking information. The specifics about the content were vague as was the "technology" part of the project. The video primarily covered the process of the scientific method. This information comes second nature to me and does not need to be reinvented. If the video were to focus on the importance that technology played in the project it would have been more useful and insightful for me. Hopefully others had better luck with their pick:)

  1. I think it is awesome that you are being true to the point and not just saying it's a good tool just because it's the easy way out. I was lucky that I found a video that was a good video for my content area and actually found it to be something I can implement in my own classes but as a technology teacher, many of the technology tools before this have not met my needs so I understand your frustration. I commend you for your critical analysis on this tool and wish you better luck in the future in finding more productive tools.

  2. I agree, this reinforces that not all things on the web are exemplars - we need to be critical of what we create and post as well as what we consume. Keep looking, good things are out there.
