Call me Mrs. Stick Man o->-<

If there is one thing in this world that I cannot do besides pee while standing, it is drawing. I am not good at it which makes the task impossible. I am actually so bad at it that even my graphic is a stick man. It is really sad when my two year old makes better creations than I do.

The graphics programs that I researched this weekend now supply me with a handicap for my lack of artistic creations. With these programs I can create creatures that look terrible but professional all at the same time. Even my students who fear pencils would not object to this form of technology.

The presentation programs are a great way for my students to share information with classmates in a way that does not involve passing notes. Not only can they present information they can also share it which is a benefit during group work. These programs allow my students to be creative in the classroom instead of on the bathroom stalls. :)

The text on the other hand is not to my liking. I think that it is uneventful and repetitive. Some of the information is useful, however I prefer to learn by doing as we have been the last few weeks.

  1. Okay, we could start a whole new blog about the peeing thing, but I don't think it pertains to technology - it's more in the Arts category. Anyway, it's interesting that you found the graphics programs helpful. Personally, I found them irritating. I spent an hour on one program, carefully drawing a Viking. I then saved it, but then IE froze on me (again) and I was forced to restart before I could take note of the URL of my picture. Hence, when I went back into the site, there was no way for me to locate my saved picture. Very frustrating. I agree, however, that the programs do offer a nice, easy way to create - not all the complicated bells and whistles that more advanced programs feature. I also have to agree with you about the textbook. I really do appreciate the information, but reading a textbook has always been a challenge for me. I keep thinking it's because I'm visual and so watching a page of nothing but words makes me crazy. At a minimum I have to use my highlighter to distinguish the important points.

  2. We all create in different ways - hopefully you found ways to make graphics or find graphics you can incorporate. Sounds exciting!
